San Francisco Attorney, Injured On The Job, Permanent Disability

Vehicle Accidents - Truck Accidents

When trucks are involved in accidents, the results are often severe.  That’s little wonder, perhaps, given their size. But the figures are still jarring.  In 2006, large trucks accounted for 3 percent of all vehicles involved in injury crashes, but 8 percent of those in fatal crashes, according to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. All told, nearly 14,000 people lost their lives in light and large truck accidents, and close to 900,000 others were injured.  More jarring, still, is that much of this harm could have been avoided.

All too often, truck accidents are the direct result of someone’s negligence.  It could be another driver, failing to operate their vehicle in a safe and reasonable manner; it could be a manufacturer that failed to design and build a safe part or system.  The legal system can’t undo the damage their actions caused, but it can help those who have suffered get accountability and redress.  Yet these cases can be difficult, requiring knowledge of the nuances of the law, courtroom procedures, and an opponent’s tactics.  In the wrong hands, even a good case can have a bad outcome.

At Mary Alexander & Associates, we’ve been litigating motor vehicle crashes -- including truck accidents -- for more than 25 years, and that has given us more than experience.  It has given us insight.  We understand how defendants and their insurance companies think, because we’ve gone up against them time and again.  And we understand what it takes to give our clients the results -- and the answers -- they deserve.  We’re known throughout California not just for our aggressive advocacy, but in the way we blend legal and technical knowledge to explain complex concepts to juries and make our case.  But our clients know us in another way, too: as a firm that makes their best interest its only interest.
