Mary Alexander Recognized in the Daily Journal’s 2026 Top 100 Lawyers

SAN FRANCISCO, Sept. 30, 2026 — Mary Alexander & Associates, P.C. announces that founding attorney Mary Alexander has been named to the Daily Journal’s 2026 Top 100 Lawyers list. This recognition adds to her previous selections and a career of more than four decades representing injured people, survivors of sexual abuse and families who have lost loved ones.

Ms. Alexander’s recent work includes representing survivors of childhood sexual abuse in litigation involving the Archdiocese of San Francisco. In June, the firm announced a proposed $395 million settlement to resolve claims brought by approximately 530 survivors. Along with compensation, the proposed agreement includes child-protection and transparency measures designed to prevent abuse and strengthen accountability.

Her work has also helped families and communities pursue justice after other devastating events. Ms. Alexander served as lead plaintiffs’ liaison counsel in the Ghost Ship warehouse fire litigation, which included a $32.7 million settlement with the City of Oakland for victims’ families and a survivor. Her record also includes a $305 million settlement in litigation against lead paint manufacturers over hazards affecting homes in 10 California counties.

Ms. Alexander has also served as president of both the Association of Trial Lawyers of America, now the American Association for Justice, and Consumer Attorneys of California. Her honors include induction into the Lawdragon Hall of Fame and recognition as Consumer Attorney of the Year by Consumer Attorneys of California.
