Did Reckless Driving Send 5 People to the Hospital?

Car accident

It was early morning on March 20th when screeching tires and crunching metal disturbed the calm of the morning streets. When police arrived on the scene, five people needed to be rushed to the hospital. However, the severity of the crash meant rescuers had a lot of work to do before they could even figure out what happened. Luckily, not everyone involved in the crash had to be rushed to the emergency room.

Was Reckless Driving the Cause of This Downtown Chain Reaction Crash

Local news station KTVU Fox 2 arrived on the scene fairly quickly. Upon arrival, one of the station’s reporters was able to talk to one of the drivers involved in this terrible crash. The driver told the reporter that he was driving his silver SUV across the intersection of Bush Street and Gough Street. The light had just turned green, and as he crossed, a black sedan suddenly sped down Bush Street and into the intersection.

After clipping the SUV, the black sedan ran full force into a silver car that was also crossing the intersection. The two vehicles then slammed into a light pole, leaving the SUV with minor damage. When rescuers arrived, they had to use the Jaws of Life to extricate the crash victims from the wreck. Five people including the driver of the sedan were transported to a local hospital with critical injuries. The driver of the SUV was able to walk away from that crash and tell authorities what happen. As of right now, no one knows why the black sedan ran the red light on Bush Street, though witnesses believe speed played a role in the crash.

However, there is a legal process in place to help the victims of such crashes.
