Boys & Girls Club Sued for Sexual Assault

Simi Valley, CA – The Boys & Girls Club of Moorpark & Simi Valley was sued in Ventura County Superior Court by a man who was sexually assaulted by one of the staff members while he was a child.

According to the complaint, an employee of the Boys & Girls club sexually molested, abused and assaulted John Doe (the plaintiff’s name to protect his identity). The man was born in 1985, and the abuse occurred from 1996-1998, when he was a pre-teen.

Mary Alexander of Mary Alexander & Associates argues the Boys & Girls Club should have provided greater oversight and protection of the then-minor but failed in its duty to do so.

John Doe was participating in the club’s youth development program, and the alleged abuser was under his care. The abuser began grooming the plaintiff almost immediately upon meeting him.

“When it was obvious that my client was being shown far too much attention, someone at the Boys & Girls Club should have immediately stepped in,” said Mary Alexander. “Instead, the boy was subjected to abuse and assault for years, and his life will never be the same.”

The abuser began isolating John Doe during youth activities and none of the other staff members came to find him.

“I have two cases pending against this very perpetrator, meaning he became quite good at molesting boys in his care all because the staff never took the time to examine his behavior and protect those children. Now, these boys have become men who carry the scars of this abuse and will throughout their lives,” added Ms. Alexander.

The case is John Doe v. Boys & Girls Club of Moorpark & Simi Valley, Ventura County Superior Court, Case No. 2025CUPP043800.
