Mary Alexander Selected as a 2023 Daily Journal Top 100 Lawyer

San Francisco Personal Injury Attorney Mary Alexander

Mary Alexander, principle of Mary Alexander and Associates, was selected by the Daily Journal as a 2023 Top 100 Lawyer in California.

After obtaining eight and nine-figure verdicts and settlements the last few years, Mary Alexander is finding justice for survivors of sex abuse both as children and adults. She is currently representing several dozen men and women who have been victimized by a variety of predators. She has dozens of clergy abuse survivors, and dozens of other sex abuse survivors who were preyed upon at work and even the dentist. With a tremendous track record of success, Ms. Alexander is helping people who survived unspeakable treatment receive the justice and recognition they deserve.

Notably, Ms. Alexander was also liaison counsel for the plaintiffs in obtaining a $32.7 million settlement in the first portion of the Ghost Ship warehouse fire litigation. On December 2, 2016 around 11:20 PM, a fire broke out in the Ghost Ship warehouse that included illegal living spaces and a concert venue. When the fire broke out, a concert was being held in the space and was attended by 80-100 people, 36 of whom were killed. Mary Alexander & Associates filed a wrongful death lawsuit in December of 2016. The civil litigation listed several causes of action against the defendants, including negligence, premises liability, public nuisance and much more.

For more than 30 years, she has earned a national reputation for her work protecting consumer rights, winning the respect of clients and colleagues alike.  In 2022, Mary was a Co-Facilitator at the National ABOTA American Civil Trial Roundtable. As a pioneering female trial lawyer, Ms. Alexander is a past-president of both the Association of Trial Lawyers of America (now known as the American Association for Justice or AAJ) and the Consumer Attorneys of California (CAOC) and has been at the forefront of some of the state’s most prominent litigation.

“I am grateful for this honor, the Daily Journal is a reputable publication and is regarded highly in the legal community, to be named a Top 100 Lawyer in California once again is incredible,” said Ms. Alexander. “I relish in advocating for my clients and their rights.”

Currently, Ms. Alexander is in the leadership of the North Bay Fire cases, representing four of the death cases and many who fled for their lives and lost everything. She also represents dozens of people impacted by the tragic 2023 Maui wildfires.
