Numerous Chiropractors in California Face Allegations of Sexual Abuse

In 2024 alone, numerous chiropractors in California have faced allegations of sexual abuse. Chiropractic care is often the last resort for those who are out of options, and these patients often suffer from crippling back pain. To take advantage of someone when they are at their weakest is completely unacceptable. In addition, doctors and healthcare facilities owe their patients a strict duty of care, and allowing this type of conduct may lead to a sexual abuse lawsuit. If you have experienced this type of incident firsthand, consider a consultation with an experienced chiropractor sexual abuse lawyer in San Francisco.

California Chiropractor Accused of Sexual Battery

In April of 2024, a chiropractor in California pleaded not guilty to several felony counts of sexual battery. The authorities reported that they decided to arrest the defendant after hearing two separate reports of sexual battery from alleged victims. Three additional victims came forward after hearing about the arrest. While the district attorney’s office declined to go into detail, it confirmed that all of these victims were sexually assaulted while they sought treatment at the chiropractic clinic.

The fact that he was accused of “sexual battery by fraudulent misrepresentation” provides some clues about the nature of these alleged offenses. Some chiropractors attempt to convince their patients that what they are doing is part of normal treatment. In reality, the patients are experiencing sexual assault – and this is what authorities mean by “fraudulent misrepresentation.” This type of conduct is common across many medical fields, not just chiropractic care.

17 Patients Sue Chiropractor for Installing Hidden Camera in Bathroom

In August of 2024, a different chiropractor in California was arrested and sued after allegedly installing a hidden camera in the bathroom of his clinic. The camera was carefully placed inside a cabinet, making it difficult to spot. As a result of its placement, this camera captured numerous people undressing, including children. Now, 17 patients are suing not only the chiropractor but also his employer. This company apparently runs hundreds of chiropractic offices throughout the United States. Four of the patients named in the lawsuit are minors.

The plaintiffs allege that the chiropractic company was well aware of the doctor’s behavior as a sexual predator before hiring him. In response, the company insists that they cooperated with law enforcement and launched their own internal investigation. They also claimed to be unaware of the chiropractor’s sexual predations, despite his questionable behavior in the past.

One female patient claims that he “insisted” upon massaging her inner thigh to treat a pinched nerve. During this massage, the chiropractor allegedly touched her vagina and buttocks in an unprofessional and inappropriate manner. This was also not a legitimate treatment method for a pinched nerve. The plaintiffs are seeking a jury trial.

Chiropractor Accused of Sexual Assault

In March of 2024, another chiropractor in California was arrested on four counts of felony sexual battery. These incidents occurred in 2023, but the authorities did not note whether the victims were current or former patients. Police officers say that there may be additional victims, and they were urged to come forward.

One of the Most Notable Chiropractor Abuses in Recent Memory

These incidents conjure up memories of a Sacramento County chiropractor accused of sexual assault back in 2022. At least one of the sexual assault charges involved an incident that occurred during treatment.

What Are My Options After Experiencing Sexual Abuse in a Chiropractor Clinic?

If you experienced sexual abuse in a chiropractor clinic, you are not alone – and you have potential legal options. Although it might be tempting to simply stay quiet, other patients may have experienced exactly the same abuse, and you may be able to take legal action together. After reporting the incident, consider filing a sexual abuse lawsuit against the chiropractor and their employer. This can provide you with compensation for both economic and non-economic losses.
